Whether you’ve never climbed before or are an experienced climber, The Rock Dump is here to help you have fun and stay safe. Our staff is ready to guide you through your first visit, and our community of climbers is always welcoming.
We believe climbing is for everyone, and your first visit is all about learning, exploring, and enjoying the gym at your own pace.
What Happens on Your First Visit
Here’s what you can expect when you step into The Rock Dump for the first time:

Check in at the front desk and complete a brief waiver.

Receive a quick orientation on how the gym works and our safety rules.

Get any gear you need, including climbing shoes and harnesses.

Begin climbing with guidance from our staff, available to answer questions and provide support.
Who Can Climb
The Rock Dump welcomes climbers of all ages and skill levels:

No minimum climbing age - but children under 16 must be supervised by an adult.

No prior experience required - beginners are encouraged!

Our trained staff will provide safety instruction for all new climbers.

Gear & Clothing
To make the most of your visit, here’s what you need:

Wear comfortable, athletic clothing that allows you to move freely.

Climbing shoes are required (rental climbing shoes are available at the front desk).

Harnesses are provided for rope climbing.
-
Chalk bags are optional, but available if you’d like one.

Safety Basics
Your safety is our top priority:

Staff supervision and instruction are provided at all times.

Auto-belays and top-rope climbing are monitored by trained staff.

Please follow all posted gym rules and instructions from staff..
Tips for a Smooth First Visit

Arrive 10 minutes early to check in and get ready.

Sign your waiver online ahead of time for a faster check-in.

Bring a water bottle - hydration is important!

Cubbies are available for personal items.

Ask questions! Our staff is happy to guide you.
